Super nanny! 2006-07-07 // 1:16 a.m.
It was quite a nice day today. I was on my way out to meet a friend when I received a phone call from KevinC, my editor at BT. He needed someone to "babysit" his 9 year old son and as I had previously offered the help, he asked if I could help him look after Lyall from 5 to 10 today. I said ok! :) But before that, I took a friend of mine around SMU, because he was about to enrol into the Masters programme there and wanted to take a look around the school. Had a pleasant chat at SMU's TCC but soon after, both of us had to go. So I reached KevC's place at 5 and met Lyall for the first time. He turned out to be such a cute, well-mannered and well-behaved boy. Well, he was a little shy at first, like all kids, but when he warmed up a little, it was fun. I had a really good time chatting with him, watching cartoons, playing games on his Nintendo Gamecube and taking him to dinner and supermarket shopping (more for myself...needed milk and cereal haha) ! Like a real nanny! Heheh. I felt a bit bad that Kev paid me for looking after his kid, but well, I am poor so some money is good. In fact, I wouldn't mind helping him on more occasions to look after Lyall! It's not even like working! Unfortunately (and fortunately), real work's starting soon, so no more chance. I will miss Lyall. His elder brother in Australia, whom I'd met once when I was at BT, does in fact look like a younger Keanu Reeves. Heheh. Anyway, I will miss Lyall - he is returning to Australia in December! I know it's only the first and probably last meeting, but I get attached a tad easily. Heheh. Anyway: Cute Lyall and Shitty Me (after a long day!)
